I went to the clinic yesterday. All of my blood recovered. Platelets up to 236,000. So I never had to get any blood products. I am not sure if I ever will have to. I had to get magnesium again but that was it. I asked if my Hickman could be taken out and the doctor said yes. I was so excited! It hurt a little bit to get it taken out because my skin was like stuck to it. After they took it out they held pressure to my neck for a few minutes. I had to wait fifteen minutes and the site wasnt bleeding so I could leave.
I do not like visiting nurses. The one who came on Saturday was an LPN. She seemed unsure of herself when changing my dressing and for some reason felt the need to tape the ends of the catheter up. But she only taped one up, guess she didn't realize it was a double. I also told her she had to put a mask and gloves on and she said she didn't think she had to.... Also they have not called me all week which is odd but I am glad because I no longer want them in my home. I only liked the first one. One nurse went through all my medication (not sure why when they have a list) and told me I should keep it higher up because of my children. First of all, I was moving so my dresser that I usually keep them in or on was in my living room and second of all my kids don't come in my bedroom because its my clean area. And half of the time I can't even open them!! I just thought it was rude to go through my pill bottles and then tell me that. Then she proceeded to tell my mother the same thing and my mom said they don't go in there... So yeah I did not find them of much assistance.
The doctor stopped my mouth washes and neupogen. I can take my shots for blood clots again but I'm scared because I have a HUGE ball in my stomach from the shots. It's the worst one I have ever had and it hurts so bad. I still have body/bone pain but its getting better. The doctor said he is going to do the test where they check what percent are my cells vs the donors around 40 days. He also said the average time to get graft v host is around 40 days so we will see. I still have nodes in my groin area but they could be scar tissue. I guess we will do a scan in about three months. I go back again next Tuesday.
