Hello! Today is day 25 out of transplant. I had to get up so early to leave again. I hate that. I can't sleep at night because I sleep too late in the morning. I really need to get on a normal routine. I chose the earlier appointment because I like seeing the doctor better than the nurse and he always only has real early appointments available. He is nicer now. I think he likes me better than a few months ago. Haha. But I am seeing the nurse next week because I can't stand getting up this early. I am the type of person who cannot function on less than 7 hours of sleep. Next week I will have the test to see what cells I am producing and what my donor's are. That will be interesting. I keep forgetting to send my donor a note or card. It's hard when I don't go anywhere.
This week, I had to get my blood drawn at 8:15 AM. The nurse put an IV in because the itinerary said I would need magnesium. I said "I hope not!". I tried to make her not do it but she said it was better than getting stuck twice if I needed it. I am used to get stuck a bunch of times but I let her put the IV in and she got it on the first try. Go her!
Sure enough, my magnesium was low and I needed the stupid infusion. My white had dropped a little which is normal because I stopped the neupogen shots. Everything else was good. I asked the doctor if it was weird I felt normal and he said no it's good. And I am not losing my hair for the third time. YAY!
I asked the doctor about some food consumption. I can eat a salad at 3 months. I can get a macchiato from starbucks in 3 months. I can eat sushi after a year maybe more.
I then got my magnesium infusion by the best infusion nurse ever. My mom wants to get her a gift. I wonder what a good nurse gift is. I am going to double up on my magnesium pills. After the infusion I drove the two hours home and took a nap. I was awoken several different times by my loud children who yell and stomp like elephants down the hall. At least I got a little rest before I had to make dinner.
