Today was my second visit to the clinic after discharge. I had to be there at 9 AM and went to bed earlier so I wasn't as tired. The nurse told me that she expected I would need transfusions today but I have been feeling fine. I was right but my platelets dropped from 62000 to 25000 so she expects I will need them on Sunday. She said my reds were hanging in there and my white was okay because of the neupogen. She made arrangements with my local office for me to go see them on Sunday. I will have to go to the hospital where they will do a CBC and infuse platelets or blood if needed. My local office seems much friendlier than Dana Farber, but I have been going to my oncologist in CT for almost five years.
I am geting more used to the masks but they give me bad acne. And then I pick it and think I am going to die from infection. It is so hard not to. I got infused with magnesium at the clinic but that was it. They dripped saline at the same time so the flushing wasn't as bad. I was told to eat more magnesium rich foods so I will be buying roasted almonds and spinach. I ran out of gas for the first time in my life on the way home. Thankfully I had gotten off the highway already and my husband was near by. Stephen to the rescue.
